Rifle Rest on a Treestand 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on October 18, 2007 by shamanJuly 30, 2021 1

Having trouble getting a steady rest off your treestand? Get yourself a shovel handle, broomstick, PVC pipe or whatever. Drill a hole through the top and put some cord through the end. Hang it from a nail or screw-in step on the tree so you have it stored between hunts. … Continue reading →

Moose’s Last Yute Hunt 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on October 16, 2007 by shamanJuly 8, 2021

Mooseboy officically became just “The Moose” after bagging a button buck Saturday morning, closing out his career as a yute hunter. Next year, he’ll be hunting by himself on an adult tag. Let me tell you that it happened none too soon, either. This guy has grown!!! It was a … Continue reading →

From the 24HourCampfire: Registered: 07/18/05 Posts: 7 Loc: BFE, Kentucky Anyone have any experience with the 50 cal black powder barrel that screws onto a Mossberg 500? I know. It’s been waaaay to long. However, we all haven’t been down to the farm since before the All-Star break. I haven’t been shooting since then either. Life has been on hold due to drought and heat and work. The big highlight this summer was going up to Lake … Continue reading →

Which 30-06 Bullet? 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on July 5, 2007 by shamanOctober 18, 2024

From KentuckyHunting.net DixieBoy22 which 30-06 bullet? What 30-06 bullet do you like best for deer? I’m thinking about 165 gr. nosler partitions this year, even though it is probably overkill. What will yall be shooting? I shoot 165 grain Hornady SP in all my .308 caliber rifles. It is absolutely … Continue reading →

Everything’s cool here. I have my food plots in. I hope the rain we had was enough to get them going. The new steering package arrived for my boat, The Floating Hole. We’ll probably have a shake down cruise on the Ohio River within the next few weeks. Mooseboy had … Continue reading →

Blood Trails, etc. 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on May 27, 2007 by shamanDecember 29, 2024

KevinDK asks: How do I make sure I get a blood trail? The higher you hit a deer, the longer it takes to have a blood trail. Basically, you’re putting a hole into a bucket and waiting for something to slosh out. If there are two holes, that’s better than … Continue reading →

Why do I hunt? 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on May 14, 2007 by shamanMay 19, 2023 2

“. . .So does this make me a Shooter? Am I a Method Man? I probably am. I am probably all these things. I probably am an old-fashioned troglodyte, and that is why I hunt. When I finish out the season with a tag or two still unfilled, call me a Sportsman. When I am up to my elbows in deer gore, you can call me a naked ape with a gun. It is all the same thing, and it is all the same to me. If I go out for the afternoon with my gun or my bow, and fall asleep in the blind and wake up after sundown, does that make me a Sportsman or just another lazy goof?”

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on November 14, 2006 by shamanMay 22, 2023

I’m back from the hunt, with the 7600 back on the bench and a doe at the processor. I looked over the Garand Friday night and the 7600. The 7600 looked like it would be easier to clean after a drenching. I left the Garand in the case. Yes, it … Continue reading →

Genesis 9:2-4

2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. 3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. 4 Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
