After Helene, Work Halts
The past week or so, Da Grudge has not seen much work. We are expecting the windows, siding and roofing to be delivered this week. Everything is done, awaiting their arrival.
Work continued on the Bunkhouse dig. We pretty well played out the borrow from just across the road on the other side of the mailbox. Before leaving last Friday, we went looking for a new source. Juni’s eyes brightened when I drove him up behind the tobacco barn. Yep, this was the new borrow.
I left left Friday for a week away, leaving Juni to do as he pleased. I had my regular batch of tests at the cancer center. The oncologist met with me at the end and pronounced my still free of cancer. I won’t have to come back for 6 months and I won’t need another CT Scan for a year.
Helene came through Saturday. The farm got some 30+ MPH gusts and about 2 inches of rain. I came back down Monday to a soupy mess, but no significant damage. The bunkhouse dig is right out the window, so I could survey that just fine, but getting back behind the Tobacco Barn wasn’t going to happen. I flew the drone instead. Juni had left me a surprise. With all the ground coming out from the new borrow, Juni decided that a new pond was in order. He really likes giving value.
Here are the results of the flight along with a description of what you’re seeing. Work probably resumes tomorrow.
