What is the best place to shoot a deer? 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on July 24, 2010 by shamanAugust 6, 2021

From Deer & Deer Hunting About this time of year, we all get to talking about a list of “bests.” What’s the best deer caliber? What’s the best broadhead? What’s the best. . . I remember once having a fellow get on AllOutdoors.com (that’s dating me) and ask what was … Continue reading →

Is it Ethical To Hunt? 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on July 1, 2010 by shamanAugust 6, 2021

From D&DH Forum Everyday Hunter asks: Is it a moral decision to hunt or not to hunt?  Let’s get philosophical. I recently re-read an article in Sports Illustrated (Nov. 24, 2008) on the decline of hunting. It ended with this sentence: “Wolves do not make moral decisions, he decided. They … Continue reading →

I am currently deer hunting with two 30-06 the 7400& the 7600.I am getting bothered by recoil& want to get something with less recoil in bolt action & semiauto.I am looking at .308 & 7mm-08.I would like a opinion on either of these calibers. Would either be sufficient for large deer. I hunt northern Maine & Newhampshire

A Ninety-Niner Speaks Out about Deer Hunting 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on June 19, 2010 by shamanAugust 9, 2024 2

From Deer and Deer Hunting: For the Ninety -Niners It’s funny.  I don’t think a lot of guys get it.  It could be that my hillbilly girlfriend’s all-to-subtle ways are rubbing off on me, and I’m getting so subtle no one can catch my hints anymore.  It could be as … Continue reading →

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on June 1, 2010 by shamanNovember 23, 2020 1

You know, the more I think about this whole Scent Lok thing the more annoyed I get. You figure an entire generation of hunters has been working under these assumptions about scent management. I am not saying scent management is bogus, but I am saying that Scent Lok and its … Continue reading →

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on May 27, 2010 by shamanAugust 6, 2021 1

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on May 26, 2010 by shamanAugust 6, 2021

I caught myself this morning while I was writing a response to a fellow on another forum who was defending his use of Scent Lok clothes. I would agree up to a point. Reducing the amount of stink your body is throwing off is a good idea. The results can … Continue reading →

The Case for Cheap Bullets 0 (0)

Genesis9:2-4 Ministries Posted on May 18, 2010 by shamanJanuary 26, 2025

Well, not really cheap bullets. “The Case for the Standard Hunting Bullet for Whitetail Deer,” is probably more accurate, but it sounds like a master thesis. This is just a rant. “The Case Against Premium Bullets” sounds mean spirited and negative. I am going to speak heresy here. I am … Continue reading →

Genesis 9:2-4

2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every bird of the air, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. 3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. 4 Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
