Mooselette Goes Turkey Hunting
#1 Granddaughter, AKA Mooselette, came down to Turkey Camp last night and went out hunting with her grandfather. It was drizzling, so we started off undercover at Midway. There was not much action on our side of the farm, so we headed in at 9, stopping for a while to visit the Honey Hole.
Meanwhile, Daddy Moose and Angus went out to the Blackberry patch and rustled up a flock of 7. Angus managed to get himself in a pickle when he happened upon a hen that wouldn’t let him move for ten minutes. There was one gobbler that flew down at first light and sauntered off in the opposite direction. Moose and Angus were in before us.  Mooselette changed out of her wet duds and started listening to her Ben Lee tapes. She says turkey hunting with Grandpa is THE BEST
They’re all packing up to head back to town before it starts to pour rain again. Angus has a big party with his friends. He turned 21 this week.

Sounds like you’ve got a hunting buddy for life! I know it makes me feel like the best person in the world when my daughter tells me that she and I spending time together is the best. Hopefully the birds will be more cooperative next outing.
