Where do I hunt in KY?

New here Hey all! I just thought I would introduce myself. I am from Michigan and I am going on my second year bow hunting this year. Anyway, I took a drive down I-75 this weekend and noticed a lot of forest area along the way, mostly near Odensville. I am thinking about hunting in KY this year. Can anyone suggest some good areas to hunt? By the way, I wished to God that I could live there because it is absolutely beatiful and everyone ain’t in a hurry to kill each other, lol Thanks
If you dig around the KDFWR Telecheck web pages you’ll get more info, but the map tell you that the best hunting is gernerally. Frankly, with things as good as they are in the Trans-Bluegrass and along the Ohio River, I’ve got little incentive to go anywhere else in the world for whitetail deer.
The map is a very good indicator based on my experience. Counties that are marked in white are not necessarily void of deer, but the numbers are probably under-reported (if you catch my drift). I hunted McCreary County for several years (take I75 to the TN line and go West a bit) . It was wonderfully scenic, but I saw few deer. On the other hand, I now hunt in Bracken (orange) in sight of the Pendleton (yellow) line. That area is brimming with deer. I attribute it to the move from tobacco to beef cattle, and the overall trend to leave more land uncultivated.
If you are up to more exploring, I can personally recommend two scouting trips: I-75 to W I71 as far as you care to go , and then a return along RT 42. The other is out and back along the AA highway past Maysville with a return through the Trans-Bluegrass angling down to Cynthiana and back up Rt 27. 80% of the deer I’ve harvested came from those two scouting trips.
