I found myself last Wednesday afternoon camped out on the back of the house next to this.

For me, that pretty much said it all. I’d spent twenty-some year sitting up in my Thoughtful Spot, dreaming up this humongous project, and now it was time for both me and the Thoughtful Spot to get out of the way. Ten feet below grade, a team of concrete contractors was nailing up forms for footers.

As a reminder, here’s what the Thoughtful Spot looked like just a short time ago. All the trees are gone. All the grass is a 10-foot deep hole.

They crew worked all of Thursday and then came back Tuesday to actually pour– a mix of bedlam and ballet all done inside a cloud of dust. By lunchtime, they were gone.
