The Tractor Arrives
I received the Kubota tractor Friday morning. Josh, the salesman, delivered it. He showed me briefly how to run it and then I took it on its maiden voyage, out mowing a path towards the Hollywood blind. Holy Cow! If I’d known how much fun it was, I’d have bought one 20 years sooner!
Josh left and I went back out, mowing:
- The road out to Midway, extending the width by about 2 feet on either side.
- The road going back through Virginia and the top end of the path.
- The path out to Jagende Hutte
- The small pasture at Broken Corners
- The strip of pasture between Dead Skunk and The Well that always accumulates cedar trees that the hay dude misses.
. . . and all that in less than three hours.
Moose and Mooselette showed up late in the afternoon and Moose mowed the path out to the campground at Glenway, a half-mile up and back. He concurred: it is ripping fun. MooseMama and her kids came down and the whole crew camped out at Glenway that evening on freshly mowed ground.
