Indiana Passes New Deer Rifle Rules
What the Indiana DNR failed to do in 2015, the Indiana Legislature has done in 2016. It’s official. Hoosiers will be able to hunt deer with rifles in 2016!
The nut of this is that in 2016, Indiana deer hunters will be able to hunt with any centerfire rifle cartridge, 243 WIN and up.
Other provisos:
- The new rifle rules apply to private land only.
- Rifle barrels must be 16″ or longer
- Ammo to .243 cal or larger with cases 1.16″ or longer and no full metal jacketed bullets
- The DNR can further define rifles but can make no changes to the ammunition as defined in the bill.
I will post more as I know it.
