When I upgraded the website over the winter, I was toying with the idea of going with a newspaper-type format, but I could not find the right options. I was digging for other things over the weekend and found just the right settings to make what I had envisioned. I’m using the occasion of my 1000th post to make the change.

What did I do?

• Added thumbnail pics to the post lists in the sidebar
• Only the first post of the blog is full-length. The rest are all excerpted.
• You can now reach about 40 of the most recent posts from the first page– roughly half a year’s worth.
