Turkey Hunting and Daylight Savings Time — 1 Comment

  1. Well, I’m back in from an early morning scout the morning before the time change, here at the Black Hole Institute. We’ve been getting our final baseline data on the turkeys in preparation for the big change– just counting down the hours. Overall, things are pretty quiet here at the test facility. There was a bit of gobbling down in the bottoms. It’s looking like we’ll have enough data going into the changeover that we should get some good contrast when comparing to Sunday.

Scooter, the intern, has recovered the use of both arms over the Winter, so he’s nearly running on all cylinders now. We’re all very thankful for the progress he’s making. He’s been invaluable to us in this study. He was doing a lot of programming over the Winter using just one knuckle and holding a stick in his mouth for using pressing the shift key, but he’s now typing away with both hands.

We’re going to be leaving now to ride into Falmouth. A tornado ripped through there earlier in the week, so I don’t know quite what to expect. When we pulled in last night, the front door lock mechanism was broken, and we had quite a time getting it unstuck. I need to hit a hardware store. Right now the front door is being held shut with duct tape and a wedge in true Kentucky tradition.
