A very proud Grandpa wishes to welcome another generation into the fold. Last night, I got word from Daddy Moose that 12 year old Mooselette has passed Hunter Education, scoring 93%.
Congrats to our newest hunter.

The Shaman and the Buddist Mandala
Yikes. I went to visit here early in the week, just checking in. I’ve invested 19 years and 4 months into this booger, and it contains the sum total of not only the bulk of what I’ve written about the outdoors, but the details of every hunt we’ve had at … Continue reading →

From the bio he submitted: FC is a 24hourcampfire.com denizen from 2005 or thereabouts. A … Continue reading →
Update on the Updates: The move is finished
The migration team at BlueHost seems to have cleaned up all the trouble left over from the move from FatCow. The site itself was moved two weeks ago. The problem was I could not make posts or add pics due to various problems encountered in the migration. Please take some … Continue reading →
MOVING!– Pardon the dust.
After over a decade with FatCow as my web host, I am in the process of packing up and moving to its parent company BlueHost. The reasons for this move are better performance and fewer outages. The net result for you guys will be good, but there is going to … Continue reading →
We lost Mom
My mother died on Saturday. She was 96. She has been in Assisted Living for 12 years since Dad died. I’ve been visiting her nearly every day. When we got the farm, the original idea was that I’d be down on the weekend with the kids and she and Dad … Continue reading →

Anniversary Weekend, 2022
This weekend marked the 21st anniversary of taking possession of our farm. It also marked the first time I’ve felt halfway normal since the Chemo ended. I was actually able to get around and putter a bit. KYHillChick stayed home with the dogs, but the rest of the tribe showed … Continue reading →
Kentucky Fall Rules Are Out

Last Round of Chemo
Yesterday, I completed my last visit to Chemo Camp. Moose snapped a picture. It ain’t all that pretty. I’m down a good 40 lbs. I’d just had a good stiff hit of anti-nausea drug dumped into my IV line. However, I’m fairly confident the treatments have killed the Cancer. The … Continue reading →
More Progress
Mind you, I still consider myself the luckiest guy out there. It was just by chance they measured my HCG Turmor Marker back in early April and found the cancer was back. I had my third round of Chemo in the bag for Father’s Day– roughly about the date I … Continue reading →
Progress Report
I figure now would be a good time to let y’all know how it’s going. I did not want you to be thinking I was all curled up in a ball somewhere with tubes coming out of me in all directions. The truth is, I’m feeling pretty darn good approaching … Continue reading →
Hiatus
Cancer has a nasty way of screwing up a Turkey Season. I did not want to call things off entirely. As it was, I left the oncologist’s on Thursday of Opening Week with a firmed-up treatment schedule and rode straight out to camp. Friday AM is when I nailed my … Continue reading →
